Parents - What To Know Before Attending A Competition

Glacier Gymnastics is located at 719 Vernon Street, Nelson, BC.

Schedule & Athlete Categories:

You will be notified if there are any schedule changes, otherwise the posted schedule stands.

Spectators:

Please note that parents are required to stay in the designated seating areas and are not permitted on the competition floor.

Entrance/Exit for Spectators: To avoid cross over of spectators between sessions, we are using a designated entrance for spectators at the main entrance to the Civic Center. The next-session spectators will remain at the entrance until the previous-session spectators have been cleared from the facility.

At the end of the session, spectators will be asked to exit through the exit door on the opposite side of the gym. Please exit promptly, in order to allow the next session to start on time. Entrances and Exits will be clearly marked.

Admission:

Adults: $5.00
Ages 5-17 & Seniors: $3.00
Children Under 5: Free

Cash only (ATM available at Finley’s Bar & Grill, 705 Vernon St.)

Volunteering:

Team Volunteer Requirements

Families with a gymnast participating in the Zone Championships, are REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER for at least one of the jobs (before, during or after the event). As per the Team Agreement; a $100 fee will be assessed to families who don't volunteer.

Parking:

On street parking (meters in effect Fri & Sat); there is full day metered parking available on Cedar Street which intersects with Vernon Street at the east end of our block. Cedar Street is a one way street, it is best to access it from Front Street which can be accessed by heading north on Hall Street which intersects with Vernon Street to the west.

Please be sure not to park in the lot adjacent to the Kootenay Co-op. This lot is for their customers only and they will boot your car and require you to pay a fine to have your car released.

Concession & Raffles:

We will be holding 50/50 raffles during each session and will also be holding a basket raffle. If you win one of the baskets but have already left the facility we will arrange to get your prize to you.

We ask that in the event of an unforeseen circumstance that prevents your gymnast from otherwise attending, please call the office or your coach as soon as you know. We appreciate getting as much notice as possible. Ph: (250) 352-2227 or email info@glaciergymnastics.com.

No Show Policy

A great deal of time, effort and expense are invested in attending the various meets & competitions throughout the season. Accurate participant lists are essential to providing our gymnasts the best experience possible. Parents are expected to notify the Club if they will not be attending an event. No Show Gymnasts (those who are on our list, but fail to attend), create a significant amount of unnecessary work and are subject to an administration fee.
